Life at Deloitte

Professional opportunities in Tax

Whether our client is an entrepreneur, high net worth individual, represents a foreign company in the UK or a FTSE organisation, we make it our business to always offer dynamic tax responses for today's fast-changing environment.

True to our collaborative working ethos, Deloitte’s answer to dealing with the complexities of a client’s tax situation is to bring together integrated tax teams of both industry and tax specialists. Not only can we then deliver the local tax knowledge our clients need, we set it in the context of their specific industry sector and the global tax environment. This means they are better placed to see the global picture and to plan strategically for their business development.

Our business spans the full range of activities: tax compliance; local tax consulting; international tax consulting; transfer pricing; customs & duties and expatriate tax services. By integrating these specialist areas when forging a team for the client, we can deliver the best tax advice to that client, wherever in the world they operate. Internally, the tax department is split into two main areas: Business Taxes, and Employer & Personal Tax.

We aim to employ the best people, have the best systems and deliver the best advice. All of which adds up to a career environment that is arguably the most stimulating in our industry – working alongside colleagues operating at the top of their game for clients who urge us to constantly push the boundaries of our creativity. It is a far cry from what constitutes ‘tax’ in most other firms.

We focus on coaching and developing our people throughout their career, to help them become best-in-class experts. Deloitte has a structured programme to help our people manage their tax career and ensure that they are offered a broad and rich experience. Our people are offered opportunities to bring their tax expertise to projects with colleagues in our audit, consulting and corporate finance practices. There is also a wealth of opportunities for secondments, both across the UK and in overseas markets.
