About us

Accelerating equity, innovation, and excellence in education

Connecting with purpose to help build pathways to opportunity for the workforce of tomorrow

The US Deloitte Foundation’s mission is to support education through a variety of initiatives that help develop the talent of the future and their influencers and promote excellence in teaching, research, and curriculum innovation.

Nearly a century of impact

The Deloitte Foundation helps prepare talent, particularly at the intersection of education and equity, for the future of work and meaningful careers in business, accounting, and STEM by investing in student, educator, and school success in the United States. The Foundation collaborates with academic institutions and education nonprofit organizations across the education continuum of high school, college, and other learning pathways to cultivate talent with the skills and mindsets necessary for the future of work.

Our program portfolio includes a variety of innovative learning experiences that connect the classroom to professional services and introduce both students and educators to emerging issues and trends. Our work ranges from providing students with college scholarships and experiential learning opportunities to offering educators insights and curriculum tools for the classroom and academic enrichment at colleges and universities nationwide.

Student Success

  • The Foundation provides critical financial support and skill-building opportunities to help diverse students pursue business, accounting, and STEM education across high school, college, and other learning pathways.
  • We have provided nearly $15M in scholarships over the past five fiscal years and have committed to fund approximately $30M in scholarships over the next several years.

I want to thank my recommenders and the Deloitte Foundation for selecting me as a Deloitte Foundation Scholar. This selection means a lot to me because it gives me a sense of encouragement to know that people are looking out for me. My career goal of becoming a computer science professional will help me to contribute to the future of technology and enable me to encourage other racially and ethnically diverse students to pursue their STEM career dreams.

Educator Success

  • The Foundation supports faculty in their efforts to train the next generation of business leaders by offering thought leadership, resources, and curriculum for the classroom, including experiential learning content and case study materials that simulate real-world scenarios and provide students the opportunity to explore key issues impacting industries like professional services.
  • Since the launch of the University of Illinois–Deloitte Foundation Center for Business Analytics, nearly 3,775 registrants have downloaded the free online courses and case studies intended for faculty to use to provide students with the data knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to become highly trained business leaders of tomorrow.

Corporations around the world recognize that hiring employees with a business analytics education is critical to staying competitive. The Gies College of Business and the Deloitte Foundation are taking leadership roles in helping universities incorporate business analytics into their curriculum and in helping students across the globe be better equipped for success.

School Success

  • The Foundation matches US Deloitte professionals’ gifts to US colleges and universities, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), and collaborates with academic institutions and nonprofit organizations to provide capacity for curriculum development, professorships, and other academic programming.
  • We have provided more than $38 million in matching funds over the past five fiscal years to more than 500 US colleges and universities.

Because of the generosity of the Deloitte Foundation, we have been able to expand scholarship support for our students and increase awareness among the student body of the financial support available to them. As a result, we anticipate that this awareness will inspire more students to pursue post-secondary education and reduce hesitancy due to perceived financial barriers associated with college.
