Meet Dameon Pope, managing director, Deloitte Consulting LLP
Deloitte provides comprehensive resources that span physical and mental well-being initiatives. And they also offer financial and wealth management resources. It’s a truly holistic approach to well-being. Knowing that I have resources available to take care of my whole self is extremely important to me.
Why did you decide to make Deloitte the next stop in your career?
In the world of digital and marketing agencies, there's a lot of talk about envisioning the future and how brands can perform at their best.
As someone who loves building and creating things, it was frustrating to see concepts stay as beautiful presentation decks without becoming a reality. That's when I realized I wanted to work for an organization where people were constantly creating new and innovative things.
I saw the opportunity to combine my agency experience with my understanding of technology. It was an exciting prospect to bridge the gap between humanity and technology, which is something I'm passionate about.
Did you consider other organizations before joining Deloitte?
Before I joined Deloitte, my perception was that professional service organizations treat their employees as cogs in a wheel, focusing on sales pursuits and spreadsheets. However, a former colleague shared his positive experience at Deloitte and convinced me to have a conversation with some Deloitte leaders. Those conversations had a different energy—and the personal interactions and the genuine connection I felt during those conversations ultimately led me to join Deloitte.
Now that you’re here, what have you enjoyed about the culture?
The positive aspects that drew me to Deloitte, such as the people-focused culture and the emphasis on networking, have lived up to my expectations. The power of trust among my colleagues is evident. There's an expectation that you'll reach out and involve others in discussions and projects, regardless of the size or scope. This level of openness and collaboration has been refreshing and rewarding.
I also have a personal advisory board designed to support my success. It's a combination of individuals who are at higher levels and those at my level, with whom I'll be collaborating frequently. We connect on a monthly basis, and they guide me in my career journey, leveraging their knowledge and experiences.
What aspect of your day-to-day work do you look forward to most?
Well, I actually like that I don't have a day-to-day routine. In the morning, I might be working with a large sports organization and in the afternoon, I could be helping to shape the future of the employee experience for airlines. It keeps me on my toes, and I enjoy the malleability of the experience. I have the flexibility to explore different areas. It's like choosing my own adventure.
How does Deloitte prioritize the well-being of its employees?
When my mother passed away, and I had to delay my start date, Deloitte was incredibly understanding and supportive. There was this positive, beautiful energy coming from the people I interacted with. It made me feel that my well-being was valued even before I officially started.

How are diversity, equity, and inclusion fostered at Deloitte?
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are daily priorities at Deloitte. It's not just about having diversity goals; it's about embracing diversity of thought and creating an inclusive environment.
Deloitte offers culturally relevant programs. They zoom in on important conversations and experiences that may be overlooked.
What would you say to someone considering joining Deloitte?
I would say, “Keep an open mind.” When I was looking for my next opportunity, I swore I would never work for another professional services organization. But when I started to talk to some of the leaders at Deloitte, I was pleasantly surprised. This is a human-centric organization—the team sees me as a person and is excited about the value I bring to the table.

A specialist in large-scale, experience-led digital transformation, Dameon Pope has 20+ years of experience defining, designing, and delivering digital experiences that have helped transform how some of the world's most iconic brands engage digitally with their customers.
Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting LLP as a managing director, he was a partner with a large consulting firm where he led a 120-person digital experience design & mobile studio. He has held numerous executive leadership roles at global agencies, built digital startups, and launched new marketing practices in global tech firms.
With a passion for studying the intersection between humans and technology, Dameon uses his eclectic mix of experiences to push the boundaries of both—making the two connect in new and innovative ways.
Dameon holds a BA in English from Morehouse College and a Master’s in advertising and marketing from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
