My Deloitte Story: Tara Hall

Tara Hall is a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP and a leader in Deloitte’s Oracle practice with more than 28 years of experience guiding clients through Oracle technology-enabled business transformations and strategic initiatives. She also currently leads Deloitte’s Higher Education Industry for Oracle. Specializing in delivering Digital Finance transformations, she has served Deloitte’s largest clients across numerous industries–helping them drive large, complex transformations resulting from mergers, new business models, and innovation. Through these transformations, she has focused on helping her client create and protect value, and effectively execute change. Within Deloitte, she has held several additional leadership positions, including serving as lead university partner for the University of Washington, the Bay Area and Seattle LGBT+ Inclusion lead, and Deloitte’s Oracle Quality and Risk Lead.

Tara was born in Seattle, Washington and her family originates from Belfast, Northern Ireland. She took her first trip to Belfast at the age of 6 weeks old and now has well over 50 trips under her belt. Her biggest asset is her passion and desire to continue to learn, experience, and understand new things.

Below, Tara shares some insight about her career at Deloitte.

How has Deloitte supported your career journey as a woman in the Oracle practice?

Throughout my career, I had the amazing benefit of working with strong female coaches, mentors, and practice leaders at Deloitte. Our last few practice leaders have been women, and this provided great role models to me and the other women in the practice. That network of strong women has provided me with invaluable coaching and guidance on how to navigate my career.

What part of your day-to-day work at Deloitte do you most look forward to?

I enjoy talking with people one-on-one throughout the day to discuss and solve some of our client’s toughest challenges. This one-on-one interaction across all levels helps develop deep and lasting colleagues for life.

What keeps you busy outside of your work at Deloitte?

In my free time, I love to travel, pursue photography, attend live concerts, write, play the guitar (or at least try!), and paint. I love painting in acrylic and mixed media–over the past 10 years I’ve completed over 30 paintings. I am often inspired by the places I visit, the feelings these places inspire, and the brilliant colors and textures of everyday life. My goal is to have enough paintings to show in a local gallery.
