What we look for
- A technical background (from undergraduate degree or prior work experience) pursuing an MBA or Master of Science in Technology (minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA)
- Two to five years’ experience, with one to two years’ experience in roles that have used technology as an business enabler (a minimum of three years of work experience is a prerequisite for the senior consultant role)
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to travel to client locations
- US Citizenship with ability to obtain US Government clearance (for Federal candidates)
Deloitte supports your progression through a well-defined career path by providing challenging assignments, mentoring, and formal trainings.
1-3 years - Expand technical proficiency within service line; Develop conclusions from analysis; take responsibility for creating and leading portions of deliverable
2-4 years - Gain expert proficiency in technology solutions, system architecture and technical skillset within service line; Lead and evaluate analysis to draw conclusions and develop insightful recommendations and solutions; design deliverable content
3-6 years - Plan and manage moderately complex engagements; structure, review and validate analysis and recommendations*
*Deloitte offers an optional opportunity to specialize in a technology or industry, and pursue a different path of promotion at this phase in your career.
4-6 years - Provide overall engagement management; integrate recommendations into a total solution for the client
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client executives; identify sales opportunities; direct engagement management

The Consultant Training Program helps develop hard skills needed to understand clients’ problems and formulate thoughtful recommendations, and practice soft skills needed to develop strong internal and external relationships. Part of the learning is through a week-long simulation working with a team of peers to solve a real business problem.
The Senior Consultant Training Program includes seminars on how to manage change, ask the right questions as consultants, framing discussions, and persuasion techniques. Participants work in teams on a simulated client engagement to solve many common client challenges.
