Amy specializes in partnership taxation with an emphasis on publicly traded partnerships and the use of partnerships in mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, she has worked on partnership, S corporation, and individual taxation in the real estate and investment fund industries.

Amy is a frequent speaker at notable tax conferences, most recently at those organized by Practising Law Institute and Tax Executives Institute and national tax industry conferences including American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Real Estate Conference, North American Petroleum Accounting Conference (NAPAC), Parker C. Fielder Oil and Gas Tax Conference, the 34th Annual Texas Federal Tax Institute, Master Limited Partnership Association Annual Meeting (MLP, formerly the National Association of Publicly Traded Partnerships or NAPTP), the MLP & Energy Infrastructure Conference, and Texas Federal Tax Institute’s Oil and Gas Conference in New York.

She has served on the AICPA Partnership Taxation Technical Resource Panel. She is also a member of Rice University’s board of trustees. Amy co-authored the online treatise Federal Income Taxation of Passive Activities and the Bloomberg BNA Tax Management Portfolio Publicly Traded Partnerships, No. 723.

Amy earned a BA magna cum laude in economics and managerial studies and an MBA with concentrations in accounting and finance from Rice University, and an MS in taxation from Golden Gate University.
