Banks Edwards

Banks Edwards has more than 30 years of transactional tax experience while working at Deloitte. Prior to taking the role as managing partner of the Washington National Tax (WNT) practice of Deloitte Tax LLP, he was the leader of the tax program accounts, which consists of Deloitte’s largest and most strategic clients, and was the co-leader of the Special Acquisition Services group, which provides merger and acquisitions services to private equity clients specializing in large buy-out transactions. Representative transactions range from $500 million to $45 billion.

Deloitte's WNT practice provides deep technical subject-matter expertise and works closely with the firm’s tax professionals and clients to provide a comprehensive approach to analysing complicated issues and managing risks. WNT professionals frequently participate in speaking, writing, and professional association activities that address current developments in legislative proposals, judicial decisions, regulatory and administrative guidance, as well as tax administration and tax policy.

Banks has a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and a MAcc from the University of North Carolina.
