Dharmesh Ajmera

Dharmesh is a partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Audit & Assurance services group. He has more than 20 years of experience in providing audit, accounting, and assurance services primarily to clients in the financial services industries in the United States, Canada, and other countries, with a thorough knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Dharmesh has led many audits and related projects of large and mid-size clients locally and globally, including audits of annual financial statements, regulatory reports, and agreed upon procedures. He holds deep financial services industry (FSI) expertise and knowledge of technical accounting areas relating to financial services industry, such as purchase price allocation, impairment, fair value concepts, and financial instruments.

Additionally, he has hands-on work experience on several accounting projects in support of Deloitte’s regional and international FSI practice, including projects on new revenue and lease accounting standards implementation, M&A due diligence, finance transformation, Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance, and other advisory projects under US GAAP and IFRS.

Dharmesh is known as a source of information to other engagement and project teams nationally and internationally with respect to the issues relating to the financial services industry clients. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) (Canada), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) (Inactive), and Chartered Accountant (CA) (India).
