Douglas A. Powers

Doug is a managing director in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Cyber Risk Services practice, specializing in managed threat services. He has more than 30 years of experience advising public and private industry clients to proactively visualize, reduce, and manage their global cyber risk.

Prior to Deloitte, Doug has served as the Navy Global chief information security officer (CISO) with a distinguished 25 year active military career. In addition to that, he also served as the first military director of Cyber Operations within the National Security Agency’s (NSA’s) Threat Operations Center. Doug is a frequent keynote speaker and an avid writer, his award-winning article, “Cyberspace Chess Moves – A primer on active cyber defense and deception strategies” was published in US Naval Institute Proceedings.

He is an active member of the National Association of State CIOs, National Governors Association, and the Advisory Council for Global Cyber Innovation. Doug holds graduate degrees in National Security Affairs from National Defense University’s Eisenhower School and Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.
