Irwin Halpern

Irwin's specialty areas include the allocation and apportionment of expenses, dual consolidated losses, mergers and acquisitions, and the tax practice and procedural aspect of the international provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. He previously served as an attorney and a senior technical reviewer at the Office of Associate Chief Counsel (International), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and as an attorney advisor to the Honorable Jules G. Korner III of the US Tax Court.

He is a member of the International Tax Journal advisory board, where he co-authored a column addressing dual consolidated loss issues. He is also a co-author of Bloomberg BNA Tax Management Portfolio The Allocation and Apportionment of Deductions, No. 6640.

Irwin holds a JD from University of Virginia School of Law and an LLM in taxation from University of Florida College of Law.
