Jennifer Chu

Jennifer is a Tax Partner in Deloitte’s Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructuring Services (MARS) group, based in Los Angeles, with more than 20 years of experience advising clients on M&A transactions and general tax matters. Her clients include leading private equity investment firms and corporate acquirers with respect to tax due diligence, tax structuring, transaction closing assistance, and post-closing integration of the U.S. and multi-national targets. She has also advised on sell side advisory projects, and has extensive experience with exit strategies, including private sales and IPOs.

Between 2016 and 2018, Jennifer was based in the Deloitte Paris, France office where she advised on cross-border, inbound U.S. M&A transactions for French multinational companies.

Prior to joining the MARS group, Jennifer spent four years in Deloitte’s San Francisco Business Tax Services group where she provided audit services, corporate tax planning and compliance services to multi-national, publicly traded companies.

Jennifer is currently the Talent Advancement Leader M&A Tax. She is also the Tax functional lead for the U.S. Private Equity. In 2024, she was the co-dean for Deloitte’s first Strategic Tax Conference for Investment Management. Previously, she was the U.S. West Region M&A Tax Leader and Co-Dean for Deloitte’s Women in M&A initiative. She has presented at Tax Executive Institute (TEI) conferences and Deloitte Tax events on M&A tax related topics. In 2018, she was the Deloitte representative for the USC Gould School of Law Tax Institute Planning Committee.

Jennifer is currently a board member for the Los Angeles Library Foundation, and is a member of the Finance Committee.
