Jennifer Chu

Jennifer is a Los Angeles based Tax partner in Deloitte’s M&A Transaction Services Group, with more than 16 years of experience advising clients on M&A transactions and tax matters. She serves leading private equity investment firms and corporate acquirers in tax due diligence, tax structuring, transaction closing assistance, and post-closing integration of US and multi-national targets.

Jennifer primarily focuses on technology, media, and telecommunications industry. Jennifer also has extensive experience with exit strategies, including private sales and IPOs using unique tax structures such as “UP-C’s”.

Between 2016 and 2018, she was based in the Deloitte Paris, France office where she advised on cross-border, inbound US M&A transactions for global clients. She also worked with Deloitte’s Global Clients & Markets group in launching the Life Cycle Growth program, a global strategy aimed to capture advisory, consulting, and tax opportunities due to mandatory audit rotation.

Prior to joining the M&A Transaction Services group, Jennifer spent four years in Deloitte’s Business Tax Services group in San Francisco where she provided corporate tax planning and compliance services to multi-national, publicly traded companies in the consumer and retail industry.
