Ken Carroll

Ken is a Technology fellow and chief architect in Deloitte’s Smart Buildings, Smart Factory, IoT and Cloud practices, and is chief product officer for Deloitte’s Smart Factory product. With 38 years of experience in engineering and engineering software, he is a specialist in IoT, engineering, energy management, smart buildings and smart factory.

Ken spent sixteen years running an engineering software company that he founded, creating, and delivering software that became the top product globally in its domain. He has also founded and led some of the largest EU-funded R&D projects and created a CEN-CENELEC and ISO standard. He also holds a number of patents. Ken has overseen IT transformations at a number of large companies while serving as their CTO.

Ken was responsible for IoT at Schneider Electric and led the IoT practice at CTP & HPE. At Schneider Electric, Ken was responsible for creating their EcoStruxure IoT platform and for a large number of IoT solutions in the domains of Facilities Management, Smart Buildings, Smart Factory, Data Center Infrastructure Management, Solar Farm Management and Demand-Side Energy Management.

Ken has a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Engineering Design from University College Dublin (UCD).
