Can you tell us your background and what area of Deloitte you work in?

I joined the Business Tax team of the Tax Department after I graduated from City University of Hong Kong. I have participated in various projects including China and Hong Kong tax compliance and consulting.

Everyone is inextricably involved with taxation. Taxation is something you should learn about before paying taxes.

What do you love about being a tax advisor?

Tax is very rewarding. I get to connect with major clients across the world and impact their unique businesses. The regulatory environment is constantly changing, and we drive change together with our clients. This gives me many opportunities to accelerate my career.

What two things about your team surprised you?

Being a part of such a big team. Each team member shares the same purpose and everyone has a sense of ownership, yet whenever anyone has a challenge or problem, everyone joins together to help. Never be afraid to ask!

What three words describe the future of Tax? 

Constantly evolving, exciting, and always inspiring.

What are your top three tips for new graduates?

• Value relationships with colleagues, teamwork is the key to success.
• Don't be afraid to make mistakes at work and learn from them.
• Maintain a positive and optimistic attitude.
