Kwasi Mitchell
Deloitte US Chief Purpose and DEI Officer and Global Chief Sustainability Officer
As Deloitte US's Chief Purpose and DEI Officer, Kwasi leads the organizational strategy of architecting a more equitable future for all through a focus on sustainability, equity, trust, and social impact in the US. Kwasi also serves as Deloitte's Global Chief Sustainability Officer, collaborating with Deloitte leaders, clients, and other key stakeholders across the globe to further the organization's sustainability commitments.
Kwasi built and oversees Deloitte's dedicated US Purpose and DEI Office, leading the organization's efforts to address some of the world's more complex issues with a focus on four areas to enact positive change: sustainability, equity, trust and social impact. His leadership as US Chief Purpose & DEI Officer is helping integrate sustainably, equity, trust and social impact into Deloitte's operations, strategy and decision-making to deepen the impact and positive change for our clients, people and communities. He also supports clients on their journey to becoming purpose-driven organizations, fostering collaborations that address systemic barriers and drive more equitable outcomes.
Before his current role, Kwasi was the DE&I leader and pro bono social impact lead for Deloitte Consulting in the US. He has a PhD in inorganic chemistry from Northwestern and an MBA from Drexel University. Today, he sits on several national and global nonprofit boards working to build a more equitable society. Kwasi lives in Washington, D.C., with his lovely wife, Kathleen.
