What are our academic requirements?

All schemes and programmes

Grades aren’t the be-all and end-all are they? Surely your creative thinking and how you tackle a challenge are equally as important? Absolutely. But we do know you worked hard to get your qualifications – or perhaps you’re still working towards them. They’re a measure of your dedication, so we’re still interested in them too. You’ll need to check you meet our minimum requirements before you apply for one of our schemes.

All applicants please note

Closing deadlines – Please be aware, if a particular opportunity becomes oversubscribed, we will close it for applications before the stated deadline. We recommend you get your application in as early as possible.

UCAS points – All grades need to have been achieved on first sitting.

A Levels – top three grades sat in the same year and first sitting over two years (excluding General Studies).

Scottish Highers – Five Highers from your 5th year at school. (If you only sat four, we’ll consider your circumstances and may include your best grade from your 6th year).

Have international or other equivalent qualifications?

You can still apply, please enter your qualifications into the application form as you received them. Do not try and convert them into the A Level equivalents, our screening team will do that for you and will let you know if you meet the minimum UCAS points. Find out more

Narrowly miss the requirements?

Don’t be put off applying. We’ve designed our application process to ensure we assess everyone’s merits, accurately and fairly, in the context of their educational and personal circumstances. We sometimes adjust entry requirements to reflect this context.

Extenuating circumstances

If you’d like us to take anything into account, there’s a chance to tell us about it on your application form. You’ll need a letter from your head teacher or university tutor to back up your request.
