Our team supports clients in the insurance and banking sectors on their transformation journeys. As well as learning key consulting skills, you will also gain expertise in actuarial specific skills such as risk modelling, data analytics and knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements across the financial services industry. Along with learning and development opportunities, you will apply your strong quantitative and technical skills to solve challenging problems on behalf of our clients. Actuarial Insurance: We provide market-leading actuarial services across life insurance and general insurance, with a reputation for technical quality and thought leadership.

Capital Markets Group (CMG): We specialise in modelling the future movements of UK and international economic markets. As part of the CMG team you will be involved in the more technical aspects of actuarial and banking work, requiring high levels of quantitative skills to solve challenging problems.

Banking Analytics & Quantitative Modelling: We help world-leading banks to maximise their data to solve complex business challenges. It’s a discipline that calls for deep mathematics and statistics knowledge, as well as intermediate to advanced programming skills, which you’ll learn while you’re here.  

Our pensions advisory business, (DTRB for short) helps clients navigate the ever-changing pensions landscape, and works with employers to ensure their employee benefits attract and retain staff. Our multi-disciplinary team of actuaries, pension administrators, investment consultants and employee benefit specialists advise pension scheme trustees and employers on an array of pensions and other employee benefit issues. These range from designing new schemes, to helping close legacy schemes, and everything in between. You’ll be listened to from the very beginning of your career with DTRB and get the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the UK, as well as accessing exciting learning and development opportunities. If you want to use your analytical skills to impact people’s pensions and benefits, then this is a great opportunity for you.

Our work in GES is all about people. This includes mobilising people using international assignments, supporting businesses with the complexities of global immigration rules, developing arrangements to drive performance through incentives and broader reward and ensuring compliance with employment tax regulations globally. Mobility: We help businesses move their people across international borders, ensuring the tax and social security complexities of moving from country to country are handled seamlessly. If you are passionate about working with people, then this is a great opportunity for you.

Japanese Mobility: We have a dedicated bilingual team that supports more than 200 Japanese companies, who we help with global mobility, tax, social security, immigration, and various other talent-related solutions.

Immigration: Much more than work permits and visas, we help clients and individuals with their life changing decisions to move to new countries, by ensuring the legal immigration complexities are simplified.

Employment Tax: We partner with employers to navigate the decisions, challenges and opportunities that they experience when hiring and paying their people. This includes advising on the employment tax impact of paying and rewarding the workforce, as well as wider ranging advice on matters such as paying people fairly and designing more sustainable reward packages for employees, linked to an organisation’s climate goals.

Equity & Incentives Consulting: We partner with our clients to design, implement and operate forward-thinking incentive programmes which are aligned to our client’s strategy and designed to foster employee engagement, while also being cost-effective and compliant with global regulations.

Executive Compensation: We partner with employers to design, implement and operate forward-thinking incentive programmes which are aligned to their corporate strategy, foster employee engagement, whilst being cost-effective and compliant with global regulations. If you are creative, like problem solving and have a passion for making people happy, then this role could be for you.

Tax Valuations: We help businesses to understand the value that tax authorities place on business assets, and negotiate values for those assets.

Payroll and Workforce Management: As employer populations become more complex, our consultants integrate with our clients to deliver, transform and disrupt across their payroll and workforce management functions.

We recently helped a client use data and analytics to understand how robots will change the way that work is done within their organisation. We helped modernise and transform the HR organisation for the leading transport company of a major capital city. We’ve even supported countries with large scale sporting events such as the Olympics.

We challenge ourselves every day to think: how could we do this better? We're currently pioneering the theme of Exponential Actuary; looking at how the roles of actuaries will change in the future due to increasingly automated workforces and the advances of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The concept looks at finding new ways to use actuary skills in other areas of a client’s business, so the knowledge and experience these people have can create value elsewhere.

We’re also working on an internal initiative to take the kind of technology we use every day in our personal lives to create an internal social network that enables our people to share insights about the work they’re doing and draw on the expertise we have across Deloitte.
