Nishita Henry to Lead Deloitte’s Federal Technology Practice
With more than 3,000 practitioners, Henry will lead the federal practice’s largest team
WASHINGTON, DC, June 5, 2017 — Deloitte announced today that Nishita Henry, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, is stepping into a new role – federal technology leader. Henry will lead more than 3,000 practitioners, working with federal agencies to transform and modernize technology systems with an emphasis on applications, cloud, analytics and system operations.
“A technology leader in the federal market has to not only love tech but understand how it best applies to a client’s needs and objectives. Nishita does that time and time again,” said Dan Helfrich, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and federal government services leader. “She has a passion for our federal clients, for our people and culture, and listens and responds to our clients’ needs in a way that helps them transform their business and meet mission.”
“Federal agencies are all at different points in their tech transformation journey,” said Henry. “For the last 20 years, I’ve been both a participant and guide in those journeys. Because of evolutions in technology, federal agencies are on the precipice of being able to better address their needs more effectively through lower costs, nimbler practices and automation.”
In her previous role as Deloitte’s federal innovation leader, Henry created a grass-roots innovation engine for the development of products and solutions. Before that she served as the technology strategy and architecture leader, where she started the development of Deloitte’s federal cloud offering and focused on digital experience.
In each of these roles Henry has championed the inclusion of women and unrepresented minorities in technology. She often has said, “When a business reflects the diversity of the population, it best serves agencies and citizens alike.”
Throughout her career Henry has led Deloitte’s work at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, transforming business and technology from the production floor to the back office. Henry’s experience also includes leading the work at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to create new ways for industry to interact with FDA and improve drug quality efforts and is working.
Her most recent work has been leading the modernization of a travel distribution platform in the cloud for a public transportation company; a project that will improve customers’ digital experiences throughout the journey, from booking the ticket to arriving at the destination.
Henry holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
