Reconnecting to change your world
A WorkWell podcast with Susan McPherson
Identify your superpower to make introductions and connections in our new normal
Relationships are vital to our health and well-being. However, with the rise of technology and social distancing in a worldwide pandemic, our human-to-human connections have suffered, especially in the workplace. Now more than ever, we need to relearn the lost art of connection.
On this episode, Deloitte chief well-being officer Jen Fisher talks with Susan McPherson, serial connector, seasoned communicator, founder and CEO of McPherson Strategies, and author of “The Lost Art of Connecting: The Gather, Ask, Do Method for Building Meaningful Relationships”, about how to rekindle connections and build new, meaningful relationships in the remote and hybrid environment.
[People] often think of connecting and networking as one and the same. I fervently believe there's a difference. And for people who may be shy or introverted, connecting should be much more comfortable, feasible, doable. The reason being is connecting is much more one-on-one, one-on-two, going deep, while networking is going around and shaking hands with everybody in the room and taking business cards or doing that in an online meeting room.
