Ed is a principal at Deloitte & Touche LLP and the Offerings and Services Leader and Regulatory & Legal Support leader for Risk & Financial Advisory. In his roles, he oversees all offerings available to clients and more specifically, as the Regulatory & Legal Support offering leader, services that address our clients’ needs to manage regulatory compliance, enforcement actions, litigations, disputes, financial crime, and other investigation-related matters.
From 2013 to 2019, Ed led Deloitte’s Cyber Risk practice, and served as an advisor to executives on how to prepare for and respond to cyber incidents. Under his leadership, Deloitte was recognized by major analysts as the leader in cyber risk and security consulting, in size, vision, and overall capability. Over his 20+ year career, he has worked with many of the world’s largest and most complex organizations to help them transform their legacy technology-driven security initiatives into business-led programs that integrate strategic risk, regulatory, and technology considerations, and has worked with leading industry organizations to help them improve their cyber risk posture at the sector level within the Financial Services industry.
Ed was formerly an adjunct faculty member in the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, where he taught undergraduate and MBA courses in IT Management and Information Security. With a strong commitment to supporting innovation and efforts to address the global talent shortage in cyber, he has been an active supporter of cyber education and development programs. He serves on the advisory board for Brown University’s Executive Master in Cybersecurity program, jointly developed a crowdsourced cybersecurity innovation competition with the XPrize Foundation and is the executive sponsor of the Deloitte Foundation Cyber Threat Competition.
