Monte is a principal in the Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP based in Rosslyn, Virginia.
He leads Deloitte’s Government and Public Services fraud, waste, abuse, and improper payments initiative, helping federal and state agencies prevent, detect, mitigate, and investigate fraudulent or wasteful acts. Monte has more than 15 years of public company audit experience to bring commercial fraud detection and prevention techniques to his client base. Monte is a recognized leader in the federal mortgage space with more than 10 years of experience providing clients with insights related to loan origination and servicing fraud, and the analytical techniques needed to uncover indicators of fraudulent activities within large loan portfolios.
Monte is also the lead client service principal for the US Department of Education, and previously served the same role for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac). In these roles he led teams that delivered internal business process reengineering, quality assurance, information technology, and portfolio analytical services.
Prior to Deloitte, Monte spent 12 years as a US Marine Corps information technology officer, in addition to four years as an IT contract project manager and program director for NASA (Goddard Space Flight Center), the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
