Monte is a principal in the Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP based in Rosslyn, Virginia.
He leads Deloitte’s Federal Government practice fraud, waste, abuse, and improper payments initiative, helping agencies prevent, detect, mitigate, and investigate fraudulent or wasteful acts. Monte has more than 15 years of public company audit experience to bring commercial fraud detection and prevention techniques to Deloitte’s Federal clients.
Monte is the lead client service principal for the US Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Education, and previously served the same role for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac). He also leads teams that deliver internal business process reengineering, quality assurance, information technology, and portfolio analytical services to the banking and securities marketplace. Monte is a recognized leader in the Federal mortgage space with more than 10 years of experience and provides clients with insights related to loan origination and servicing fraud, and the analytical techniques needed to uncover indicators of fraudulent activities within large loan portfolios.
Prior to Deloitte, Monte spent 12 years as a US Marine Corps officer, in addition to four years as a contract project manager and program director for NASA (Goddard Space Flight Center), the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
