Career options

In Audit & Assurance, we have roles available for Graduates, BrightStart Apprenticeships, Entry-Level Apprenticeships (Newcastle only), Summer Vacation Scheme and Industrial Placement. Discover more about our programmes.

We work with some of the most influential multinationals, innovative start-ups and biggest household names across the globe, supporting them to audit their accounts. If you join our Audit team, you’ll work with lots of senior people, whilst gaining insight into how their organisations operate and the economic and industry issues that matter to them.

We have full-time opportunities available in Audit on our BrightStart Scheme, which is a Level 7 apprenticeship suitable for college leavers, as well as on our Graduate programme. On both programmes you’ll be studying towards either the ACA or CA qualification with either ICAEW or ICAS, depending on which country you are located within. Both qualifications are globally recognised and are designed to expand your knowledge of a wide range of technical areas. They’ll help you confidently perform at work and develop professionally throughout your training agreement.

We work across all parts of the audit business to assess the risk around IT systems that generate financially relevant information. You’ll learn how IT supports businesses and the key processes involved. Our purpose is to serve the public interest and help give confidence that the financial information going out is correct. As part of your graduate opportunity, you’ll have the option to study towards a MSc qualification in Digital and Business Risk Management. Other relevant qualifications, including the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), are also offered during your career with us. More details can be found on our Technology page.

To be resilient, businesses must be ready to respond to current and future challenges and opportunities. They are increasingly being required to be more transparent with their reporting, to drive trust and confidence in the market, and protect the public interest. That’s where we come in. We provide independent assurance by assessing the risks and underlying processes, so that organisations can make the right decision for them.

High quality and transparent reporting on data use and compliance of data handling is critical for both compliance and for rebuilding the trust of the public. Our dedicated Analytics team specialises in helping businesses to understand and analyse their data and models to produce insights. We help businesses with three main activities – data, models and analytics, giving assurance over what they’ve produced, or helping to improve them. Our work spans across industries including Banking and Capital Markets, Investment Management, Private Equity, Insurance, Public Sector, Retail, and Oil and Gas. More details can be found on our Technology page.

We’ve created a Centre of Excellence in Newcastle (SACC) to support our internal teams throughout the UK. The team here provides remote support to all the Deloitte teams who engage directly with businesses, to help them in completing tasks associated with the audit of accounts. It involves working closely with your colleagues and will help you to develop an understanding of company accounts and why they’re so important to get right. Roles are available for entry level apprentices who are leaving school. You will be completing your Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 4 apprenticeship whilst working in our team and become a subject matter expert in company accounts. As part of this, you will attend college to study AAT level 4 with your peers. As well as formal and informal on-the-job training, you’ll have a supportive team around you to guide you through your career at Deloitte.
