ESG data tracking and supply chain sustainability

Go from ambition to action on supplier sustainability

Is your supply chain sustainable? Today’s customers care, both in B2B and B2C—and, increasingly, so do investors, regulators, and insurers. While many organizations have started to track ESG data, few have taken the next-level actions that stakeholders now expect. Learn how to use data to implement a supply chain sustainability program and get access to Forrester's report, The State of Industrial Sustainability in 2022.

The importance of supply chain sustainability

Organizations that fail to adequately monitor and respond to the growing focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) run the risk of introducing several disruptive factors into their businesses, which can affect their ability to access capital markets, increase their cost of capital, and hinder their ability to create meaningful connections with customers.

Within this rapidly evolving ESG landscape, the critical role of the supply chain and the importance of visibility across the extended supply network is becoming abundantly clear. Most organizations today are not vertically integrated and, as a result, rely heavily on their extended supply network for goods and services that support their operations and end products.

This dependency also introduces ESG-related exposure. An organization’s ability to provide transparency into its performance and products is hindered if it lacks deep visibility into the various ESG dimensions across its multi-tier network. Therefore, in today’s world of heightened ESG pressure, organizations need to look toward their supply chain function to establish critical insight into their current state. At the same time, they should use supply chain data to power differentiated customer experiences and shape their sustainability-focused brand image.
