Climate battle

Special edition of Rzeczpospolita in cooperation with Deloitte

December 2018 r.

On the occasion of the COP24 climate summit in Katowice, Rzeczpospolita issued a special publication -"Climate Battle”. It includes several expert articles and commentaries on environmental issues. Deloitte is a partner of this publication.

The world must find a solution that would reconcile the growing needs of people with the scarce available environmental resources. Could a circular economy be this solution? Our calculations show that even a small change in the Polish economy – 1 per cent savings in the cost of materials and energy – may result in an annual GDP growth of PLN 19.5 billion.

Climate battle. Challenges for Poland, Europe and the whole world.

Our lives get longer, more and more of us live in cities, and our financial situation is improving. With the growth of the population and the increasing income, the consumer group is increasing, including primarily the middle class, the economic impact of which is enormous. The projections show that middle-class consumption can be responsible for one-third of global GDP in 2030 years.
