Clifford has served financial services industry clients at Deloitte for nearly 20 years. He is Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory’s artificial intelligence (AI) leader for financial services. In this capacity, he helps clients stand up, or enhance, their AI risk management programs. By strengthening and stitching together model risk, data risk, cyber risk, legal/compliance/ethics, and technology risk management programs, he is helping his clients develop end-to-end AI lifecycle risk management programs. Additionally, for nearly 15 years, he’s helped his clients prepare for and understand regulatory expectations with respect to modeling and model risk management (MRM). In this effort, he has helped institutions stand up their MRM governance and operating frameworks; create model documentation for legacy models; conduct model validation for a wide range of models, from anti-money laundering to asset and liability management; and perform “mock” regulatory assessments to identify potential regulatory pain points. Clifford regularly presents various topics within MRM at industry conferences. He holds a Ph.D. in economics, a Masters in accountancy (with CPA), and has served as a part-time professor at UNC-Charlotte’s Belk College of Business.

Satish Lalchand is a principal in the analytics practice of Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP, specializing in anomaly detection and data analytics, business rules development, and modeling. Lalchand has in-depth knowledge of fraud rules creation for prevention, detection, and investigation with a broad range of experience in managing and leading engagements in these areas. A certified fraud examiner (CFE), he has presented on “Using data analytics” at ACFE and IIA events.

Ulrike is a managing director in Deloitte Consulting where she leads engagements focused on helping the top US banks and payment companies address their pressing challenges in the areas of growth, operating model design and payment transformation. Ulrike has more than 25 years of experience in leading transformative change across financial services organizations. She recently re-joined Deloitte after serving as the head of Enterprise Payment Strategy at Wells Fargo. There she led a team focused on leveraging the assets and leadership position of Wells Fargo to create platforms, partnerships, and strategies to shape the future of payments. Additionally, she represented the bank on key payment topics across industry bodies, including the Payco board of The Clearing House. Ulrike’s work at Deloitte has included the design and build of a digital payments platform, the operating model design for a mobile wallet payments platform and the strategy definition and pursuit of a major real time payments build. She has also led the separation of a business line and the stand up of consulting business for a client. Prior to joining Deloitte, Ulrike held leadership positions at Consumer Finance, Card, and Payments companies in Europe and in the US. She started her career at Citibank where she spent ten years and held leadership roles in the German and US Cards businesses. Subsequently she held leadership positions in GE Capital’s Consumer Finance business and at MasterCard. She holds an MBA in Finance (Fulbright Scholar) as well as dual undergraduate degrees in Business Administration (BA (HONS) and Diplom Betriebswirtin. Ulrike frequently publishes on payments topics and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, most recently at MoneyFest, Money 2020, Card Forum, and Women in Payments.
