Meet the speakers
Kulleni Gebreyes
Dr. Kulleni Gebreyes is Vice Chair and US Life Sciences and Health Care Industry Leader in which she leads a team of over 15,000 diverse professionals who are focused on advancing the industry by improving patient outcomes and developing financially sustainable strategies for LSHC organizations. Kulleni is a physician leader with over 25 years of experience across the commercial and public sectors. She is a principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP. Her work focuses on driving care delivery transformation for health care organizations pursuing financially sustainable strategies for consumer-centric care models that are data driven and digitally enabled. She has also developed strategies for population health management and value-based care that address payment reform, physician alignment and patient activation. Kulleni also serves as our Chief Health Equity Officer. She oversees our strategic efforts to ensure that health equity principles are embedded across the organization, in its services and offerings, and in interactions with clients and the community. She also drives our perspective on how the health care industry can and should advance health equity. Trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital System, she is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Six Sigma Green Belt. She holds an MD from Harvard Medical School, a BA in biology from Princeton University and an MBA from Carey Business School of Johns Hopkins.
Dr. Jay Bhatt
Dr. Jay Bhatt is a physician executive, primary care physician, and public health innovator. As managing director of the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions and the Deloitte Health Equity Institute, Bhatt directs the firm's research and insights agenda across the life sciences and health care industry. Dr. Bhatt continues to practice medicine in the Chicago area while serving in his leadership role at Deloitte.
Alicia Janisch
Alicia is Vice Chair and US Health Care Sector Leader. In this role, she leads a multi-disciplinary team focused on health care providers and health plans/payers segments. Alicia is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Health Care practice as well as its go-to-market strategies and resources. Alicia is a partner of Deloitte Tax LLP. With over 20 years of experience, she excels in fostering client relationships and coordinating with team members across multiple tax disciplines, including Federal, State, and International Tax, Tax Technology, Employment Tax, Indirect Tax, Legal Business Services, and Credits and Incentives. She also has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence, and large-scale tax compliance engagements for health systems. Additionally, Alicia serves as one of our Health Equity leaders and is a director on the board of the Deloitte Foundation. She holds both BA and MS degrees from Michigan State University.
Pete Lyons
Pete is Vice Chair and US Life Sciences Sector Leader. In this role, he leads a multi-disciplinary team focused on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical technology, and consumer health care segments. Pete is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Life Sciences practice as well as its go-to-market strategies and resources. Pete is a principal of Deloitte Consulting LLP and has more than 25 years of consulting experience focused primarily on helping life sciences drive significant transformations across the strategy, operations, and technology spectrum. In addition, Pete also has an extensive background in finance, project, and resource management. Pete earned a BS in economics and information systems from Boston College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
