Deloitte launches Center for Government Insights to accelerate government innovation through research, field work, and immersive learning experiences
Research focuses on identifying actionable lessons and strategies for digital transformation, government performance, public sector innovation, and effective policy implementation.
WASHINGTON, October 25, 2016—Deloitte announced the opening of its new Center for Government Insights, which produces thought-provoking research to help government solve its most complex problems. Through publications, forums, and immersive workshops, the center engages with government leaders on a journey of positive transformation to uncover and understand trends, overcome constraints, and expand the limits of what is possible.
Led by author and government innovator William D. Eggers, managing director, Deloitte Services LP, the center is a space for collaboration with government and commercial clients, academicians, and former and current public officials. It also is a source of up-to-the-minute insights on the most important issues facing local, state, and federal governments.
We’re not a ‘think tank’, we’re what I call a ‘think-and-do’ tank. We bring an implementation mentality to our research. We collect data, mine our teammates’ experiences in the field, and interview subject matter experts in and out of government. Then we move to testing and sharing our insights with clients in order to work with them to find the best solutions that address their needs and makes an impact.
– William D. Eggers, managing director, Deloitte Services LP
With our federal clients, we believe in working together toward the best solutions to challenges that affect us all as citizens. Our success depends on our clients’ successes. The research, publications, and workshops from the center also will operate the same way. Case studies representative of our clients’ successes provide the best practices for continued performance improvement for government.
“We launched this Center to work with our clients on innovative ideas,” said Mark Price, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, and US Public Sector leader. “We have an opportunity to draw insights from our experience working with government clients across the country and around the world and combine that with the lessons learned from working with 80 percent of Fortune 500 companies. The Center will help us understand trends, draw insights, identify best practices at the broadest level and then test innovative ideas.”
Deloitte works alongside its government clients in 47 of 50 US states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico—and all 15 federal cabinet departments in the US government.
The center is staffed by research professionals with deep experience in government, organizational effectiveness, policy formulation, and government innovation including Bruce Chew, managing director, Deloitte Consulting LLP, who is focused on federal government research; and John O’Leary, senior manager, Deloitte Consulting LLP, who leads state and local research.
