Corporate History

In June 1990, six major partners left Tohmatsu & Co. to found Katsushima Toshiaki Certified Tax Accounting Office, a predecessor of Deloitte Tohmatsu Tax Co. established in Minato Ward. Their aim was to provide tax services that conformed to the Japan Certified Public Accountants Act and the Certified Public Tax Accountant Act. The 2001 revision of the Certified Public Tax Accountant Act enabled tax accountants to jointly establish a tax accountant corporation, which led to the foundation of Tohmatsu Tax Co. (currently Deloitte Tohmatsu Tax Co.) in May 2002.
