Beth F. Kaplan
Beth is the managing director for the Center for ControllershipTM. A Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory managing director at Deloitte & Touche LLP, she has more than 35 years of experience both as an auditor, CFO/Controller, and as a financial operations consultant. Beth specializes in helping the Controllership function improve overall finance processes, reduce cost of delivery and/or reduce risk. She has served some of the largest global and national organizations as they transform their controllership function due to mergers, accounting changes and/or system transformation. Beth has published several times in the areas of improvement of the financial close and reporting process, role of controllership and designing an effective control design for Sarbanes-Oxley.

Charles Carrington
Charles is a Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Controllership practice. He has more than 25 years of experience adding value to organizations on a broad range of topics including: Design and implementation of financial operating models Operational response to changes in accounting standards Improving the effectiveness of the finance function Financial close improvement Cost and profitability management Digitizing financial controllership Robotic process automation (RPA) Information quality and consistency Internal controls and corporate governance Through his experience living and working on three continents, he knows what it means to be truly global. Temano Shurland
Temano Shurland is a Life Sciences and Health Care principal within Deloitte and is the US Health care Finance Transformation leader. He serves Deloitte’s largest and most complex clients within the health care (large hospital systems and health plans/insurers) and life sciences (pharmaceutical, medical devices, etc.) industry. Shurland has more than 20 years of progressive finance transformation lifecycle experience (strategy, design culminating with implementation) providing thought leadership and strategic advice to chief financial officers, chief accounting officers, and their finance and controllership functions. He has advised clients across a broad range of operational issues within the accounting and finance space focusing on helping them find and provide value that effectively positions the finance function to better serve their key stakeholders through the process, technology,and/or organization and talent transformation.
