Clif Mathews
Clif is a partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP's Transactions and M&A practice, where he leads the M&A Accounting, Reporting, Integration & Separation offering. With more than 20 years of accounting and reporting experience across various industries, Clif has broad knowledge in US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, including those specific to business acquisitions, spin-offs and separations, carve-out financial statements, discontinued operations reporting, pro forma financial information, IPOs, and registration statements. Clif also has deep experience gained through his lead role on numerous buy-side and sell-side transactions. Clif has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including consumer products, industrial products & services, retail, travel & hospitality, and real estate.
Maria Bunch
Maria is a Deloitte & Touche LLP principal leading M&A Services for global organizations pursuing a variety of transactions including acquisitions, divestments, and IPOs. Maria brings deep domain experience in the areas of Finance, Accounting, and Risk and Controls, as well as, nearly 20 years of experience guiding complex, global, and multi-billion deal value transactions. Maria’s focus in the M&A lifecycle spans from planning an issue-free Day 1 (deal closing), guiding the preparation of the closing/opening balance sheet, establishing a process to account for the transaction, aligning accounting policies, assessing reporting segments, defining the Finance integration or separation strategy, planning and execution to conduct the post-merger financial close, and designing the Finance operating model post-deal. Maria has also served in subject matter advisor roles such as: M&A labs, post-merger assessments, M&A finance & controllership Playbook design, and finance modernization projects triggered by the needs to the M&A transaction.
Adam Whiting
Adam is a leader in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s M&A and Restructuring practice. He has expertise in both pre/post-deal environments, strategic cost transformation programs and cross-functional synergy delivery. He primarily serves Deloitte’s retail and consumer products clients. Adam has advised clients on strategic acquisitions/divestitures, commercial and operational diligence / synergy identification, pricing analysis, large global program management, and integration / divestiture delivery. Adam holds a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and a MBA in Strategy and Finance from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
