Meet the Deloitte Board of Directors
The Deloitte Board of Directors plays a critical role in guiding Deloitte’s short and long-term strategy, while continually strengthening our sense of partnership. The board has overall responsibility for governance of Deloitte. The board’s primary role is to be the steward and voice of the partnership, balancing short term operational excellence with sustained long-term success. In addition to being a steward of the organization, the board also has the responsibility to act as a guardian of the partnership and provide oversight of management to ensure that they are protecting the organization from internal and external risks. Finally, the board acts as an advocate to support management in the execution of the long-term strategy to enable the growth and prosperity of the organization.
Mike Fucci, Chairman of the Board
Mike Fucci is chairman of the board, Deloitte. As chairman, Mike leads the board in providing governance and oversight as well as guidance on priority matters such as strategy, brand positioning, risk mitigation, talent development, and leadership succession. For the past 37 years, he has been a practitioner and principal at Deloitte, with specialties in human resource transformation, talent strategies, and total rewards.
Mike serves in several leadership positions. He has been a member of Deloitte’s Board of Directors since 2012 and is chairman of the Deloitte Foundation. He also is a member of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited Board of Directors and its Global Governance Committee. Mike previously served as chief operating officer of Deloitte Consulting LLP (Deloitte Consulting), national managing director for Deloitte Services LP, national managing director for Partner Matters, and a member of Deloitte Consulting’s Executive Committee.
Cathy Engelbert, Deloitte Chief Executive Officer
Cathy Engelbert is responsible for more than 90,000 professionals who serve over 80 percent of the Fortune 500, producing measurable impact for clients, people, communities, and society. Since 1986, Cathy has had a distinguished career serving large and complex global clients and has served as a specialist in financial instruments. She previously led the US audit practice. Cathy is chair of the Center for Audit Quality Governing Board, chair of Catalyst, and vice chair of the Partnership for New York City. She has been listed as one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women for the last three years. She is a member of the American Heart Association CEO Roundtable, the Business Roundtable, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Kennedy Center Corporate Fund Board.
Punit Renjen, Deloitte Global CEO
Punit Renjen is CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (Deloitte Global). He previously was chairman, Deloitte (US), and before that, CEO, Deloitte Consulting LLP (US). Punit serves on the boards of United Way Worldwide, the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, and the Japan Society. He is among select global thought leaders who serve as LinkedIn Influencers, regularly publishes views on topics including the importance of establishing a workplace culture of purpose.
Lara Abrash has 25 years of experience in public accounting, including 15 years as a partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP. She is currently the deputy chief executive officer of Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance practice and previously served as the national managing partner of Audit Innovation and Client Service Delivery and chief operating officer of Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance practice. Her client service roles have included global lead client service partner on a variety of large multinational clients in various industries, including consumer products, technology, and hospitality.
Sam Balaji is the Global Leader of the Advisory businesses for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited. He has three decades of experience spanning client, practice, and global leadership roles. He has served many of Deloitte’s largest clients in the technology, telecommunications, media and entertainment industries driving large, complex business transformations resulting from M&A, and innovation. He is a member of the US Board of Directors and has previously served on the Global Board of Directors.
Karen Bowman is a principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP and the US Consulting leader for the travel, hospitality, and services sector. Karen has 28 years of professional and consulting experience across a broad range of consumer business industries and in global human resources. A licensed attorney, Karen began her career clerking in the US Court of Appeals and then practiced law in both Michigan and Ohio with a focus on complex business restructurings and mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Teresa Briggs is the west region market leader and managing partner of the San Francisco office for Deloitte. In her role, Teresa helps drive national strategy, client and business growth, and strategic positioning. Teresa has 35 years of experience with Deloitte in the technology and consumer business sectors. She also leads Deloitte’s relationship with a multinational technology company.
Michael Canning is a life sciences and health care principal for Deloitte Consulting LLP. He has 28 years of experience within Deloitte and has focused on strategy and business transformation engagements at some of our largest payor and provider clients in the US. Michael’s previous roles include national managing director for Consulting Global Operations, global managing director for Consulting Service Areas, and national managing director for Strategy & Operations. Michael has also written many points of view on the health care industry and given a number of presentations on the key emerging trends.
Michelle Collins is an Audit & Assurance partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP with more than 30 years of professional experience. She serves many of Deloitte’s largest global automotive and manufacturing clients with a focus on periods of significant growth and change, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrations. Michelle is currently the Automotive sector leader for Audit & Assurance.
Bob Contri is the global financial services industry leader for DTTL. He has nearly 30 years of experience within Deloitte and has extensive global experience working with large clients. In his role as leader of DTTL’s financial services industry group, Bob is responsible for overseeing Deloitte’s four financial services sectors: banking and securities, insurance, real estate, and investment management. He is also charged with setting the industry’s overall strategic direction and go-to-market strategy for financial services globally.
Donna Glass is the deputy global business leader for Risk Advisory and the managing partner of the US Global Office and Industry Program for Risk & Financial Advisory, Deloitte & Touche LLP. She has 30 years of combined experience in the Investment Management sector, and has advised many of our largest financial services clients. Prior to leading the industry program, Donna led the Financial Services industry practice and the Investment Management practice within Advisory. She also leads Deloitte’s relationship with a global investment management company.
Ami Kaplan is a partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Her primary role is to advise Deloitte’s largest and most complex global financial services clients on business, risk management, and other financial and organizational challenges. As the lead client service partner for some of Deloitte’s largest universal bank clients, Ami is responsible for developing all senior executive relationships and overseeing all of the teams and work we deliver.
Scott Mund is the global leader of the International Tax service line at Deloitte Tax LLP. Scott has more than 30 years of experience serving public and private clients in the life science, technology, and entertainment industries. He has been consistently recognized by International Tax Review as a leading US tax advisor in the areas of cross-border structuring and mergers and acquisitions. He was also recognized by the Legal Media Group as one of the world’s leading tax advisors. Scott previously served as the Los Angeles office managing partner for Tax.
Tom Omberg is the Chief Risk Officer for Deloitte Global and has more than 25 years of professional experience. He has deep experience in the financial services industry with a focus in financial accounting and reporting, valuation, and securitization, primarily in the banking and securities sector. Previously, he led the Audit Professional Practice and Quality Network and served as Chief Operating Officer for Deloitte Advisory. Tom also serves on the US Board of Directors.
Rich Penkoski is a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP and serves as the national managing principal for Clients & Industries. Rich has more than 25 years of consulting experience, focused primarily on helping global organizations optimize their financial and management reporting capabilities and enhancing their systems infrastructure. He has led many of Deloitte’s largest finance and IT-enabled transformation programs.
Stanley Porter is a partner with Deloitte Consulting LLP and the US Energy, Resources & Industrials (ER&I) industry leader. Stanley leads the strategic direction of the practice, alignment of resources with clients, team leadership development and succession, and go-to-market strategies for Deloitte’s businesses. Stanley is a lead client service partner with more than 25 years of experience assisting energy executives in matters regarding strategy, capex optimization, opex reduction, mergers, and digital adoption (robotics, analytics, cognitive, etc.) to enhance business performance.
Jorge Salgueiro is a leader in the Risk and Financial Advisory practice within Deloitte & Touche LLP. He has been practicing public accounting for more than 29 years. Throughout his career, Jorge has served various industries and has significant experience in helping clients protect and create value by dealing with the internal control structures of large multinational companies, and the complexities of how these controls relate to the different risks associated with strategy, finance, operations, technology, and regulation.
George Simeone is an Audit & Assurance partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP with more than 30 years of accounting and auditing experience advising our largest financial services clients. He has an extensive background in regulatory compliance, risk management reviews, and accounting and operational reviews of financial institutions. George has also led engagements in the areas of derivatives operational controls and dispute consulting/expert testimony.
Mark Steiger is a partner with Deloitte Tax LLP and has 28 years of experience serving large companies, primarily in the financial services industry. He is also the chief strategy officer for Client Experience, focused on the client elements of our overall strategy. Mark previously served as the chief clients & markets officer for Deloitte Tax LLP, where he engaged with some of our most strategic clients, handled urgent client matters that require leadership attention, and provided insights for key proposals. He has led the development of many initiatives and innovations through the years to help our client service teams deliver differentiated value and tax services to our clients. Mark is currently a vice chairman on Deloitte’s US Board of Directors.
Camille Stovall is a principal in Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP. For more than 30 years, Camille has assisted clients in navigating critical business events and financial and operational crises, with a focus on financial and operational restructuring, crisis management, forensic, litigation and dispute consulting, and corporate development. Camille is an executive sponsor of Deloitte’s Chief Legal Officer program.
Andrew Vaz is a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP and the global chief innovation officer for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited. In his role, Andrew works across all of Deloitte’s businesses and geographies to understand disruptive change and identify strategies to embrace market opportunities created by the ever evolving technological, government, societal, and business landscapes. He is responsible for ensuring that Deloitte continues to build and acquire solutions, market offerings, and business models to not only evolve with clients, but anticipate the next generation of solutions and capabilities that clients will need to meet an ever-changing set of challenges.
