Deloitte’s Next Generation CEO Program is intended to be a transformative experience that helps aspiring executives prepare for the role of CEO through experiential learning, networking, personal reflection, and action planning.
About The Next Generation CEO Program
Based on extensive research and experience, the Next Generation CEO program includes interactive sessions with a peer cohort and engagement with CEO-level faculty and external guests. Program faculty features seasoned CEO and
C-Suite speakers along with senior Deloitte leaders who bring decades of personal experience to the curriculum. The program is both powerful and thorough, providing an opportunity for preparation, personal reflection, and planning related to key aspects of the CEO succession process including:
Why Do I Want To Become CEO?
Participants explore their motivation for pursuing the CEO role, their personal purpose and value of alignment with their organizational purpose, and what it means to be “Fit for Circumstance.”
What Does it Mean to Be CEO?
The program delves into critical issues faced by CEOs, how to lead through an age of discontinuity, resilience techniques and ways to drive progress through transformation.
How Do I Become CEO?
Program participants explore and hone their personal and leadership brand, discuss board and stakeholder expectations and strategies, and articulate their company vision and their path to CEO.

The North America Next Generation CEO Program participation is available to Deloitte clients and is by invitation only. Participants are nominated by their organization’s current CEO, CHRO, and/or Board of Directors, and are sponsored* by Deloitte account teams. The cohort size is intentionally limited to enhance the learning experience and promote the development of deep relationship building.
The typical participant profile includes those who:
- Are potential succession candidates for the CEO role at their current organization or have the potential to become corporate CEO of another company in the next five years.
- Act as, or have recently been promoted to a regional leader, P&L leader, or president role of a significant subsidiary.
- Have support for their participation in the program from the CEO, CHRO, and/or Board of Directors.
*The services described herein are illustrative in nature, however due to independence restrictions that may apply to audit clients (including affiliates) of Deloitte & Touche LLP, we may be unable to provide certain services based on individual facts and circumstances.

The Next Generation CEO program offers a tailored executive development experience through a combination of keynote speakers, small group learning and breakouts. The Next Generation CEO program features a majority of current, in-seat CEOs as program faculty (approximately 10-15 CEOs join each program to lead a session). The program is an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day tactics of your job and invest in your own leadership and professional development.
The program is primarily held in person. The program may include virtual sessions before or after the in-person programming.
