Brian D. Little

Brian is a partner in the Multistate Tax practice of Deloitte Tax LLP. Brian has more than 21 years of experience in multistate sales/use taxation, providing tax, business consulting, and technology service. Brian leads Deloitte’s US indirect tax compliance Center of Excellence which assists clients with preparing and filing sales and use tax and transaction tax returns.

Brian has extensive experience in sales and use compliance, having managed many large sales and use tax compliance engagements and assisted clients with automating their in-house compliance processes. Brian has experience in sales and use tax systems and has assisted clients in documenting/reengineering processes and implementing tax-related software. Brian has also assisted clients with evaluating their sales and use tax compliance function and identifying potential areas of opportunity to enhance controls and streamline processes.

Brian also leads Deloitte’s Exemption Certificate Compliance service offering which assists clients with analyzing risk, implementing best practice processes, and remediating documentation issues.

Additionally, Brian’s background includes audit defense and controversy resolution, sales and use tax refund and overpayment analysis and recovery, nexus reviews, technical research memos, and development of sales and use tax/custom manuals. Brian has also assisted clients with Sarbanes/Oxley reviews and documenting/designing tax processes, including account reconciliations, etc.
