Erik Smolders

Erik joined Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Treasury Advisory Services in January 2019 focusing mainly on M&A and treasury transformation projects as well as heading Deloitte’s treasury as a managed service initiative. Recent engagements include the development of a global treasury and in-house bank structure including pooling and intercompany netting; standing up treasury functions post-divestiture; the creation of an intercompany receivables factoring agreement; selections of treasury management system; and an overhaul of the global foreign currency-related flows of a global organization, resulting in a more centralized currency exposure management environment.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Erik spent 12 years as the corporate treasurer for a technology company with responsibility for its global treasury and risk management functions and successfully worked through a variety of increasingly complex finance leadership roles with the company, especially in the areas of international treasury and cash management, mergers and acquisitions, financial planning and budgeting, credit risk management and corporate finance.
