Jeff Shaw

Jeff works with clients on many different aspects of federal taxation including areas of mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, reorganizations, consolidated tax returns, tax accounting, tax minimization, and transactional support. He has extensive experience advising clients on domestic and cross-border transactions, corporate restructurings including corporate workouts, bankruptcy, refinancing transactions, and the financial statement accounting for transactions under ASC 740. Jeff serves as the lead Tax Partner on several attest clients responsible for the review the accounting for income taxes under ASC 740. Jeff leads the firm’s Subchapter C national competency group as well as a national leader in the firm in section 382, consolidated tax return matters and NOL utilization issues. Jeff serves as adjunct professor for Corporate Income Taxation and Consolidated Tax Returns at the University of Illinois Masters of Science in Taxation program.
