Jim Watson

Jim is a partner at Deloitte Tax LLP where he serves as the US Merger and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax Services Leader. In this role, he focuses on the development and growth of the practice while specializing in delivering tax consultative services on significant M&A transactions for private equity funds and multinational companies. Our M&A Tax practice is dedicated to delivering best in class service to our clients throughout the transaction lifecycle, including buy-side and sell-side transaction support, due diligence, acquisition structuring, post-closing integration, debt/equity restructuring, and exit/divestiture planning. Jim’s specific expertise includes assisting some of the firm’s most important private equity and corporate clients through these important events, providing him with first-hand knowledge in designing and implementing tax-efficient acquisition, financing, and exit structures, and advising on the integration of acquired businesses. He applies the depth and breadth of these experiences in leading the practice, to help ensure that we match the resources and support that our clients need to deliver on their transactions.
