John Solomon

John is a managing director in Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP in Washington, DC and currently serves in a leadership capacity of the Real Estate Consulting practice. With more than 25 years of commercial real estate consulting, financial advisory, and valuation experience, he specializes in valuation, pre- and post-transaction strategy, acquisition due diligence and analysis, lease analysis, mergers and acquisitions, tax and financial reporting, financial modeling, development, public-private partnerships, and advisory work within a broad range of industries.

John is regularly involved as an advisor to multiple private and public real estate investment trusts, investment firms, and real estate intensive companies as it relates to annual fair value reporting, including impairment analyses. John works closely with the Deloitte National Office on various technical lease accounting issues, including derivation of incremental borrowing rates, asset impairment/valuation, and has assisted major program account clients with new lease accounting, right-of-use asset/lease liability measurement, IBR, and other transition issues.
