Lisa has significant experience advising clients across industries on complex corporate tax matters, including mergers, acquisitions, internal reorganizations, and spin-offs. She previously served in the Office of Chief Counsel (Corporate), Internal Revenue Service, focusing on reorganizations, spin-offs, transfers to controlled corporations, redemptions, bankruptcy, and tax shelters. While there, she drafted US Department of the Treasury regulations, revenue rulings, private letter rulings, notices, and other published guidance on basis shifting in dividend equivalent redemptions and the IRC section 351 control requirement. She also has previous transfer pricing experience which includes drafting IRC section 6662(e), regarding the imposition of accuracy-related penalties on underpayment, transfer pricing documentation, and requests for advance pricing agreements.
In addition to her client service role, Lisa contributes to Deloitte’s tax-related internal alerts and develops and teaches Deloitte-sponsored learning programs. She has previously contributed to external publications such as the CFO Journal and risk and compliance pages for The Wall Street Journal and Tax Notes.
Lisa earned a BA in international relations in Soviet and East European studies with a minor in economics from The George Washington University, a JD from George Mason University School of Law, and an LLM in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
