Mary Jo specializes in the taxation of debt instruments and derivative products. She has experience in the areas of distressed debt, hedging transactions, debt modifications, convertible debt issues and digital asset transactions.
Mary Jo is a frequent instructor at Deloitte and speaks at externally sponsored events on the taxation of financial instruments hosted by organizations such as the District of Columbia Bar, the American Bar Association, and the Practicing Law Institute. She is also the vice chair of the Financial Institutions and Products Committee of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association.
Mary Jo has a bachelor’s degree from Saint Louis University, a JD from University of Nebraska College of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
