Neil Laverty

Neil is a principal at Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory, specializing in Accounting & Reporting Transformation in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications industries. Neil has an extensive background in transactional projects, including IPOs, secondary offerings, and private placements, acquisitions and divestitures, and transformational projects, including the implementation of finance systems and organizational change.

From 2010 to 2012, Neil was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the SEC’s Office of the Chief Accountant, in which role he served as a consultation resource in areas including revenue recognition–particularly for emerging issues in the Technology sector–leasing, business combinations, and long-lived assets, under both US GAAP and IFRS. Neil also was one of the principal participants in executing the IFRS work plan, and participated in the SEC’s oversight of accounting standard-setting process.
