NEW YORK, April 17, 2023 — Deloitte today announced a multi-party engagement with Amazon Web Services (AWS), HighByte and Element Analytics, Inc. to innovate a new data management offering based on AWS’s Industrial Data Fabric offerings. This combines Partner Solutions with prescriptive guidance to use AWS services to enable digital transformation with an open industrial data framework. The offering will serve as a key enabler of Deloitte’s smart manufacturing platform and services. Deloitte’s smart manufacturing platform provides manufacturers with a core data analytics foundation enabling data visualizations, predictive analytics and more, and Deloitte’s services help organizations accelerate time to value.
This engagement brings together leading technology providers to create an integrated mechanism for manufacturers to utilize data as an asset, at scale. With the power of Deloitte’s smart manufacturing platform that embeds Partner Solutions as well as AWS IoT and AI/ML services, business leaders can gain economical, easy and secure access to previously untapped datasets and new visibility into operations, monitor asset performance, drive continuous improvement, and capture and connect information from all areas of the enterprise to make more informed business decisions.
Why this matters
Today’s manufacturers are operating in an era shaped by a combination of rapid advances in technology and global events that have led to unprecedented levels of supply chain and workforce disruption and economic instability. While many organizations have increased digital investments and accelerated the adoption of emerging technologies in response, the complexity and accessibility of industrial data continue to be one of the biggest challenges to innovation as it is often siloed across production sites and IT and OT systems, making it difficult to not only manage but also to model and govern. According to 2022 Deloitte research, the current state of manufacturer data serves as a primary barrier to enabling quicker digital transformation, with poor integrations (60%) being ranked as the top pain point, followed by disjointed data systems (46%), and unstandardized data collection (46%).
