The Deloitte Board of Directors plays a critical role in guiding Deloitte’s short- and long-term strategy, while continually strengthening our sense of partnership. The board has overall responsibility for the governance of Deloitte. The board’s primary role is to be the steward and voice of the partnership, balancing short-term operational excellence with sustained long-term success. In addition to being a steward of the organization, the board also has the responsibility to act as a guardian of the partnership and provide oversight of management to ensure that they are protecting the organization from internal and external risks. Finally, the board acts as an advocate to support management in the execution of the long-term strategy to enable the growth and prosperity of the organization.

Lara Abrash
US Chair
Lara Abrash is the Chair of Deloitte US, the largest professional services organization in the United States with more than 170,000 professionals. Lara was elected into this role in June 2023 after serving four years as the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte & Touche LLP, where she was responsible for overseeing the US Audit & Assurance (A&A) business. Lara is a member of Deloitte Global’s Board of Directors and Chair of the Deloitte Foundation, which supports education through a variety of initiatives designed to help develop the talent of the future and promote excellence in teaching, research, and curriculum innovation.
In her role as the Chair of Deloitte US, Lara is responsible for leading the board of directors, governing all aspects of the organization. Driven by its purpose, to make an impact that matters, Deloitte leverages its multi-disciplinary model as a source of strength to offer an unparalleled range of offerings, services, and capabilities to help its clients and people reach their full potential. Lara is instrumental in helping the world’s greatest companies solve the complex issues shaping our world today. Jason Girzadas

Jason Girzadas is the chief executive officer of Deloitte, the largest professional services organization in the United States. With more than 170,000 professionals, Deloitte provides audit and assurance, tax, consulting, and risk and financial advisory services to a broad cross-section of corporations and governmental agencies.
Jason has a long track record of helping clients navigate the challenge of large-scale strategic and technology-driven change and is actively engaged with clients and global alliance relationships. He has served as the managing principal of Businesses, Global, and Strategic Services (BGS) of Deloitte US, and the Clients & Markets leader and the Life Sciences & Health Care industry leader for Deloitte Consulting LLP. Additional previous leadership roles include Global Consulting leader, Deloitte Global and serving on the Deloitte Global Board of Directors.

Ambar Chowdhury

Ambar is a leader in Deloitte Consulting LLP and serves as its Chief Strategy and Investments Officer. In this role, Ambar is responsible for designing and articulating Deloitte Consulting’s strategy and managing its overall investment portfolio including both organic investments and M&A.
Previously, Ambar has served in several leadership roles including Deloitte India’s Strategy & Operations practice lead and the Deloitte Strategy service line lead in the US. Ambar has 25 years of consulting experience with both Monitor Group and Deloitte. He has served some of the organization’s largest clients on corporate and business unit strategy, particularly in the Consumer and Industrials industries. In his client work, Ambar has focused on defining breakthrough growth strategies and then translating those into organization-wide transformation programs that deliver sustained impact.
Ambar is a member of the US Deloitte Board of Directors where he serves as the Chair of the Talent Committee and as a member of the Finance and Audit Committee.

Marty DiMarzio

Marty is a leader in Deloitte Consulting LLP, with a track record of architecting and delivering complex global transformations for some of our largest life sciences clients. He serves as the Global Lead Client Service Partner for a Fortune 500 client.
Marty has spent his entire career with Deloitte, working closely with Fortune 500 clients on a range of strategy, business transformation, acquisition and divestiture, and systems implementation projects. He is well known for developing strong relationships across Deloitte’s network globally to provide a full breadth of capabilities and delivery to clients. In addition to his leadership serving clients globally, Marty serves as the Yale School of Management Lead Recruiting Principal. Previous management roles include serving as the US Industry Leader for Human Capital, as well as serving as a member of the Life Sciences Healthcare Industry Executive Committee and the Human Capital Offering Executive Committee. He is also a champion of Deloitte Greenhouse client experiences.

Jason Downing

As an enterprise leader, Jason leverages the breadth of his experiences across Deloitte’s businesses to serve in client leadership and cross-business leadership roles. Additionally, Jason serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Clients & Markets Growth (“CMG”) organization. In this role, Jason is responsible for the financial health and operations of CMG as well as CMG’s digital strategy, service delivery transformation, and offshore delivery team. He works closely with all four business growth leaders and the CMG channel leaders to operationalize the organization’s multi-disciplinary growth ambitions in its client portfolios, industry sectors, and markets.
Throughout Jason’s 31-year career, he has served clients of all sizes – public and private – primarily focused on CFOs, finance organizations, and large-scale finance transformation initiatives. Jason also brings strong governance experience having served as Chairman of the Board at United Way of Metropolitan Dallas as well as having participated in and delivered programs for current and aspiring directors through Deloitte’s Center for Board Effectiveness.
Jason has been a member of US Deloitte Board of Directors since 2021. In this capacity, he has served on the Governance Committee, Climate Sub-Committee (Chair), Go-To-Market Shared Agenda Working Group, Return-to-Work Working Group, and was recently appointed to the Deloitte Canada’s Board of Directors.
Since joining Deloitte & Touche LLP in 1992, Jason has served clients across multiple Deloitte businesses. He began his career in the Audit & Assurance business, where he earned his CPA license, which he continues to maintain as active today in Texas. In the mid-1990s, Jason took a leadership role with Deloitte Consulting LLP where he helped to grow its finance transformation capability for over 20 years. Jason previously served as the leader for the Consulting business in Dallas and managed its Strategy & Operations practice in the Mid-America Region. He then served as the leader of Deloitte across all businesses in the North Texas marketplace. Prior to assuming his current leadership role in CMG, Jason served as the US leader of Deloitte Private, with responsibility for the strategic direction and delivery of the full breadth of Deloitte to its private company clients.
Jason is deeply engaged in the North Texas marketplace cultivating senior client relationships and serving in board and leadership roles at United Way, Park Cities Baptist Church, Stephen F. Austin State University Foundation, and Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business. He has been named to D CEO’s Dallas 500 list of most influential business leaders each year since 2016.

Betsy Evans is a leader in Deloitte Tax LLP with more than 29 years of experience in professional services. She is currently the National Business Tax Services Leader, where she leads our professionals providing federal income tax advisory, compliance and provision services to our clients. Most recently, she served as the Office Tax Managing Partner for the Atlanta/Birmingham office, where she led marketplace growth and talent initiatives. She is also a tax partner in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring Services group of Deloitte Tax LLP. Her experience includes assisting financial and strategic buyer clients with mergers and acquisitions and tax structuring.
She also has served in various external governance roles, including as a board member of Seminole Boosters, Inc., and of Whitefoord Community Program.

She has managed large engagements of companies with extensive global operations and currently serves as the client service leader for a globally recognized and pre-eminent company with operations across a wide spectrum of industries. Wendy previously served as the National A&A Leader for talent and as a member of the A&A Executive Committee. Prior to that, she was the Group Audit leader in charge of the Houston Group where she had responsibility for all aspects of the business including operations, talent, and growth. She is a hands-on leader with a collaborative leadership style that allows her to work closely with engagement teams, management, and board of directors to identify issues and address concerns in a practical, business-minded manner. Her experience in working with large, multinational companies has made her a valuable advisor to her clients and to leaders within Deloitte.

Dr. Kulleni Gebreyes is Vice Chair and US Life Sciences and Health Care Industry Leader (LSHC) in which she leads a team of over 15,000 professionals focused on advancing the business of science and health to help improve health and well-being. In service to multi-national life sciences and health care organizations, the LSHC practice helps our clients create value by helping these market-shaping businesses unlock digitally enabled innovation.

Kim Griffin-Hunter

Kim serves as the Managing Partner of Deloitte's South Florida practice office, where she is responsible for the strategy and direction of Deloitte's local growth initiatives and community impact programs in South Florida. Kim is a seasoned business executive and senior partner with over 30 years of professional services experience at Deloitte. She serves large multinational and private companies primarily in the health care sector by enhancing business value through large-scale financial and digital transformations. Kim is a member of the US Deloitte Board of Directors and Deloitte Foundation Board. In the community, Kim serves on not-for-profit boards and is very engaged on the issue of health equity in the US.
Kim is a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and board members on today's most compelling business issues. She is a skilled thought leader to corporate executives helping them address financial strategies, talent, transformations, the role of automation, and health equity. She has also hosted board-ready programs for women and led national teams around diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Ed Hardy

Ed Hardy is a Risk & Financial Advisory leader in Deloitte & Touche LLP. He has nearly 30 years of experience serving large global clients in the insurance and financial services space.
Ed has served some of Deloitte’s largest relationships and attest accounts and held various executive and management committee roles. Most recently, he was the global lead client services partner on a Fortune 50 company, and he currently serves as an Advisory partner to several financial services companies.
Ed is one of Deloitte’s leading subject matter specialists with respect to complex financial instruments and valuation, serving both attest and consulting clients. In this role, he has been an advisor and led projects for clients in the investment management and insurance industries, exploring investment structures and alternatives to help clients align with both investment objectives and regulatory compliance requirements. He has provided transaction support for numerous multi-national engagements, including advisory services for M&A, IPO-, carve-out-, and divestiture-related work.

Chuck Kosal

Chuck serves as the Chief Transformation and Technology Officer for Deloitte Tax LLP. In this role, he leads the Tax Service Delivery Transformation program and is responsible for the US firm’s Tax business strategy with specific emphasis on innovation, technology, and transformation.
Chuck is also a member of the Deloitte Global Tax & Legal Executive leadership team in the role of Global Platforms and Assets leader. In this role, he is responsible for globally scaled platforms, such as Intela, and innovative technologies including generative AI.
Chuck most recently served as the leader of Deloitte Tax LLP’s National Federal Tax Services practice. He also previously served as the Office Tax Managing Partner for Detroit and the Strategic Tax Review Practice leader for Deloitte US.
Early in his career, Chuck served in the US Army and Army Reserve with deployments to Panama, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait and is a proud veteran of Operations Desert Storm. During his time in the military, Chuck attended the National Leadership Development Course and the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy.
Chuck is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the former Vice Chairman of the State of Michigan Veteran’s Trust Fund. Currently, he dedicates time to Veteran mentoring and entrepreneurial programs and crisis outreach.

Dan Mueller

Dan has over 30 years of public accounting experience and is a leader in Deloitte Tax LLP, serving as the Lead Client Service Partner and Lead Tax Partner on several private equity clients. He is also the Managing Partner of the Tax Businesses and Service Lines, as well as a member of the Executive Leadership team for the tax practice. In these roles, he collaborates with business leaders to set an integrated client focused strategy, oversees the execution and delivery of operational services, and guides strategic engagements for the US Tax businesses.
Dan has extensive experience developing strong relationships with clients and teaming across the organization to deliver the breadth and depth of Deloitte’s services. Specifically, he assists clients across industries with a broad range of M&A transaction matters, including due diligence, structuring, tax attribute enhancement, and post-transaction planning.
Dan currently serves on the US Deloitte Board of Directors and has previously held various governance roles, including as Co-Chair of the US Deloitte FY21 Nominating Committee; Secretary of the Deloitte Tax LLP Board; and member of the US Deloitte PAC Board. Dan also serves as a Board Member of Deloitte Tax Services India Private Limited.
Previous management roles include serving as Chief Tax Talent Officer, Central Region Tax Managing Partner, Chicago Office Tax Managing Partner, and Chicago Business Tax Services Leader. Dan was also a member of the Young Partner Advisory Committee. Externally, he currently serves as secretary of the Executive Board of Adler Planetarium.

Kathleen Purtill

Kathleen Purtill leads the Civil Government Sector in Government and Public Services (GPS). She is a former US Navy officer with more than 20 years of experience in government consulting focused on delivering enterprise transformation enabled by innovation and technology.
Kathleen has helped some of our largest government clients tackle complex challenges and modernize, leveraging technologies such as AI, 5G, and CX. In addition to client leadership roles, Kathleen has served as the Client & Market Growth Leader for GPS and the Business Model Transformation Service Line Leader.
Kathleen has held various governance roles as well, including serving on the boards of Athletes for Hope and St. Aidan’s School. She also has served on the Women’s Advisory Board of Girl Scouts National Capital Region. Kathleen is a Certified Director of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
Kathleen is a 2023 Consulting Magazine Women Leaders in Tech Honoree. She is passionate about mentoring veterans transitioning out of the military − something close to her heart as a veteran herself − including a seven-year commitment with American Corporate Partners.

In his 25 years of experience in professional services, Irfan has advised many of the technology industry's market leaders on their most strategic and transformative technology and cybersecurity initiatives. Through his vast client experiences and internal leadership roles, Matt brings a wealth of industry experience, strategic foresight, and a strong professional network of clients and colleagues that enable him to provide an exemplary client experience.
Previously, Matt served as the Central Regional Managing Partner, Central Region Chief Operating Officer, and Chicago Office Audit Leader. In addition to his 17 years of boardroom experience through client service, he has held various governance roles, including currently serving on the board of Chicago Run, a nonprofit that seeks to improve the physical fitness and social and emotional well-being of Chicago children. Adam Weissenberg

Adam Weissenberg is an Audit & Assurance partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP, currently serving as the Vice Chair and Asia Pacific Leader for the US Global Office. In his roles, Adam helps drive the US strategy around global issues while supporting leadership alignment around Deloitte’s most significant accounts. Adam has 30 years of client experience serving many of Deloitte’s most prominent clients in the transportation, hospitality, and services (THS) industry sectors.
At Deloitte, Adam has served as a Lead Client Service Partner (LCSP), Advisory Partner, Industry Leader, and in business leadership roles. As an LCSP, Adam has led some of the organization’s largest audit accounts, as well as significant non-audit accounts. China Widener is a leader in the technology industry practice at Deloitte Consulting with more than 30 years of professional cross-sector experience. She currently serves as the Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) Technology Sector Leader for Deloitte Consulting focused on driving strategic growth through maturing industry/sector convergence and enterprise transformation opportunities, optimizing delivery excellence, and supporting the evolution of staff and leader colleagues.
Prior to Deloitte she held various executive roles, including COO, Chief Inspector (internal Risk and Audit), In-house Counsel, and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.
Since joining Deloitte, China has focused on technology-enabled business transformation for both Government & Public Services (GPS) and Commercial clients and has held a number of account leadership roles.

As a senior client leader, John’s experience includes overseeing enterprise performance consulting and advisory services, financial statement audit services, accounting and reporting advisory services, and financial and tax transaction services in connection with mergers and acquisitions. John also has extensive financial accounting, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and capital markets experience. Through his client service work, John has actively participated in numerous board and audit committee meetings, sharing his independent perspectives with board members across a wide range of industries and emerging topics and leading practices in board governance.
John serves a variety of clients, including as a Lead Client Service Partner on several multinational accounts. John has also held various management leadership roles, including most recently as the Chief Operating Officer for the Audit & Assurance business and as a member of the US Operating Committee. As Chief Operating Officer, John was responsible for setting operational strategy, aligning management systems with that strategy, developing business plans for various economic scenarios, and driving outcomes from the investments made by Deloitte in business transformation. John has also served as National Managing Partner – East Region; Regional Managing Partner – Southeast Region; National Managing Partner, Clients & Markets – Audit & Assurance; US Hospitality Leader; and Global Cruise Industry Sector Leader. He was the Chief Diversity Officer for Deloitte reporting directly to the US CEO, where he drove a transformative diversity & inclusion strategy as a business imperative.
John currently serves on the US Deloitte Board of Directors and has held various governance roles, including as a Deloitte & Touche LLP Board Member, a member of the Audit & Assurance Oversight Committee, and a Peering Group E Committee Member. Externally, he sits on the board of the Hispanic C-Suite Corporate Council. He is a former director of Junior Achievement of South Florida, former director and Audit Committee member of Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, and former Corporate Advisory Board member of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA).
John received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting and a minor in Information Systems from Florida International University. John is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
