Cargo security summit

Post summit report

This report highlights the themes being discussed by today’s leaders in the cargo security mission, including a view of the collaborative work already underway to enhance individual and shared cargo security efforts, an analysis of the challenges faced, and a look forward to the future of a risk-based, intelligence-driven vision for supply chain security. The topics addressed in the report include: cargo security policy and oversight; trade facilitation and industry collaboration; and global and domestic supply chain implications.

This document draws extensively from the Second Annual Cargo Security Summit held in November 2013 by the Institute for Defense & Government Advancement (IDGA). These Summits bring together thought leaders from both the private and public sectors to discuss the challenges of securing the global supply chain and explore viable solutions for both the short and long term.
