2019 St. Louis Capture the Flag Competition

Sponsored by Deloitte at Innovation Hall, powered by Venture Cafe St. Louis

Sharpen your cybersecurity skills and sign up for the Capture the Flag at Innovation Hall today. The event aims to inspire technical skillset development through fun security-focused competitions. See below for challenge rules and registration information.

Competition overview

Deloitte’s Capture the Flag (CTF) challenge is designed to help sharpen cybersecurity skills and provide hands-on learning and networking opportunities for participants. The difficulty of the challenges can be modified for various scenarios, from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); to more advanced college students; to cyber professionals. The challenges offer a unique learning and training opportunity in a fun, competitive environment.

Deloitte’s CTF is built on its own hackazon portal, which is being used as a training and development tool for clients in addition to hosting STEM hackathon challenges.

The objective of the competition is to solve practical cyber challenges in a simulated environment. The goal of each challenge is to find a “flag” in order to receive points. Challenges award varying amounts of points depending on difficulty. The participants with the most amount of points at the end of the competition wins. In the event of a tie for points, the fastest team wins.

Participants should plan to arrive 30–60 minutes early, and stay for the awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m.

Registration

Participants who are interested in competing must complete registration by March 15, 2019. Only the first five teams to register will be eligible to participate in the competition.
