How do we create safer AI that is beneficial to humans amidst unprecedented times with uncertain outcomes? What parameters can we put in place to help ensure ethical use and efficient augmentation of human activity? Stuart Russell, a professor of Computer Science at the University of California at Berkeley, and Director of the Center for Human-Compatible AI explains how we’ve been thinking about AI incorrectly and how we can course correct to create safer AI that is less biased and successfully performs amidst uncertainty.

Stuart Russell is a Professor and formerly Chair of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley, holder of the Smith-Zadeh Chair in Engineering, and Director of the Center for Human-Compatible AI. His research covers a wide range of topics in artificial intelligence, with a current emphasis on the long-term future of artificial intelligence and its relation to humanity
