Challenge: Client recognized a need to transform its broadcast engineering operations from inflexible legacy technology and process to a nimble, adaptable operating model with a future-focused suite of platforms, capabilities and operating procedures.
Solution: We helped the organization redefine its operating model from a nationally distributed one to a centralized hub. This included identifying target markets for the new centralized operation, redesigning the organization, redefining job roles and required skills, and designing the technology solutions to support it.

Challenge: Client wanted to migrate its technology and operations to cloud in order to realize new operational savings.
Solution: We planned and led a multiyear transformation program to redesign the client’s broadcast operations and deliver up to 30% in annual operational savings through cloud-enabled scalability and automation.

Challenge: A leading esports company wanted to build a centralized production facility to support demands of a growing catalog of games with millions of viewers around the world. It was seeking to leverage available citywide and worldwide fiber networks to rethink the production control model and use a new operating model with centralized production control in three time zones (“follow the sun” model). The client looked to decouple the production processing from the operator facility, as hosting needed hardware in traditional data centers. It was faced with the challenge that multiple esports productions require advanced technical systems to deliver, although the cost of traditional production, including travel and OB trucks, inhibited full coverage of events.
Solution:
- Created conceptual architecture for the buildout of remote production facilities supporting 24/7 event services and contribution of all camera and player feeds, with all production staff in a centralized location.
- Reviewed client’s vendor landscape to determine best solution, future-state requirements, and design based on vendor and partner relations.
- Designed and built facility on very tight schedule to support and produce esports events from around the world with low-latency signal transmission using all IP JPEG XS and ST2110 signal processing.
- Used innovative design methods to accelerate design and organize build of multiple facilities around the world.

Challenge: A national sports league wanted to improve its broadcast production capabilities for the 2022 season and beyond. The league faced various constraints to bring its games to air and was looking for ways to optimize its resources.
Solution: Deloitte was engaged as the strategic partner to envision the future of broadcast production for the league and identify both short- and long-term plans to improve the production standards across the league.
- Analyzed 30+ existent production and distribution contracts across the league. Interviewed 11 out of the 12 teams to identify current-state scenarios, gaps and improvement points for production capabilities, process, standards, and governance.
- Reviewed league’s operational manual(s) to standardize the technical production expectations across teams.
- Develop a high-level five-year road map and cost assessment that outlined key activities and major milestones for the league
