Mark J. Bethke, FSA, MAAA

Mr. Mark J. Bethke has been a healthcare consultant for Deloitte Consulting LLP since June 1999. Mark is Deloitte’s Value Based Care (VBC) leader and Population Health Innovation Team (PHIT) leader, working across the entire healthcare ecosystem to advance population health, VBC, and transform the healthcare industry. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He helps his hospital, physician, and health plan clients with care delivery transformation by bridging their strategic and financial business needs through collaboration in value-based accountable care models. Beyond his leadership roles in VBC and PHIT, which brings the breadth and depth of a team focusing on strategy, clinical, financial, operational, analytics, and technological, Mark’s specific core competencies include VBC strategy, value-based aligned incentive models, and health information analytics to help assess risk and model future potential business scenarios. He works on issues such as provider contracting, risk/gain sharing, product development, financial analysis and management, data structure design, and health status-based risk adjustment.
