Thomas Nicolosi

Tom is a Deloitte & Touche LLP principal in Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory’s Regulatory & Operations Risk practice. He leads the Banking Compliance Program Risk Management industry group and has extensive experience assisting financial services clients with governance, regulatory, and compliance risk management related issues. Tom is also responsible for leading the overall “Modernizing Compliance” initiative which focuses on creating more efficient, effective, and proactive compliance risk management programs.

Since joining Deloitte, Tom has focused on general compliance and governance issues, operational enhancements, consumer compliance, and anti-money laundering compliance. In delivering services to clients, Tom has: driven risk management-related strategic planning; led compliance program framework development/design; and led large program implementations. He has also conducted operational and regulatory assessments; created training content; led mock examinations and examination preparation; developed policies/procedures; and developed and conducted compliance testing.

Over the last few years, Tom has also focused on broad compliance program transformation/modernization work. He has assisted some of our largest financial services clients with the development and implementation of an overall compliance/regulatory risk management mitigation strategy and program design that includes the following aspects: strategic planning; governance; legal inventory; risk assessment, monitoring, and testing methodology; management reporting; training; and identifying and implementing compliance-related technology uses cases (e.g., Robotic Process Automation and Cognitive Intelligence) as part of this overall strategy.
