Life at Deloitte
San Diego commitment to our communities
On Friday, June 5, keep an eye out for hundreds of Deloitte professionals who are leaving behind their laptops, conference calls and emails to volunteer for San Diego’s nonprofit organizations, including Feeding America, Junior Achievement, Born Learning Trail (in collaboration with United Way), and Horses of Tir Na Nog. We’ll be the folks in the blue t-shirts throughout the San Diego area, taking part in our 16th annual, nationwide day of community service—Impact Day.
Making an impact that matters is an ongoing commitment
Impact Day represents our organization’s ongoing commitment to the communities in which we live and work. Despite what the name ‘Impact Day’ implies, we strive to positively affect change in our communities every day. Though Impact Day is our most visible demonstration of corporate citizenship, our leaders and professionals volunteer their time and skills year-round to nonprofits across the US and right here in San Diego.
Beyond our work in San Diego, we expect tens of thousands more volunteers to contribute to more than 950 community service projects in more than 80 US communities, often focusing on causes that support youth education and veterans transitioning to civilian careers.
Impact Day is the one day each year when the people of Deloitte celebrate our corporate citizenship efforts as a group. So, if you see me or my colleagues out volunteering in our blue Deloitte t-shirts—ask us where we’re going. Maybe we can tell you about a great local nonprofit you’re not familiar with, but that inspires you to give of your time or funds.
