The Deloitte RightStep™ Innovation Prize is designed to help scale the next cutting edge approach to education. Congratulations to the 2015 RightStep™ Innovation Prize winner, Reasoning Mind!

Congratulations to:

Reasoning Mind implements an interactive online math curriculum in partnership with school districts and provides robust teacher training to reinforce this innovative approach in classrooms.

The organization, which currently operates in Texas, West Virginia, and California, has a track record of success validated by 10 research studies including multiple evaluations that demonstrate increased student achievement on standardized math tests, improved attitudes towards mathematics, and increased concentration rates measured by percentage of time students spend on task in math classrooms.

Beyond 12 has developed a robust alumni tracking platform, a facebook student engagement application and a personalized coaching service that helps high schools and colleges across the country ensure that students succeed in college--and beyond.

iMentor builds mentoring relationships that empower students from low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions.

Reasoning Mind
Reasoning Mind uses technology to drive a complete learning system for mathematics education that combines an internationally-proven curriculum, effective and prepared teachers, and an online learning world that fully engages students.

Strive for College
Strive for College is college students helping high school students reach their college dreams. College mentors volunteer to help underprivileged high school students get into college and pay for it.

uAspire works to ensure that all young people have the financial information and resources necessary to find an affordable path to–and through–a postsecondary education.

Deloitte brought the CEOs/Founders of Deloitte’s signature nonprofit relationships (City Year, College Summit, Posse Foundation, and New Profit), the five RightStep™ Innovation Prize finalists, and key internal and external education thought leaders for an Innovation Panel and Celebration on April 20 at the New York Greenhouse. The CEOs/Founders of Deloitte’s signature nonprofit relationships led an engaged panel discussion on “Disrupting the conventional sponsorship model and scaling for impact."

Prize overview

Recognizing innovation in education: The Deloitte RightStep™ Innovation Prize seeks to recognize a 501(c)(3) organization or a for profit organization with a social mission that has a proven approach that leverages technology innovatively to achieve key outcomes in education.

Desired target group: Growth stage organizations that are looking to scale their approach. Participants must directly or indirectly serve children and youth along the K-12 continuum, including those that are underserved.

Intended education outcomes: Through the Deloitte RightStep™ Innovation Prize, Deloitte is looking for organizations that will help drive the key education outcomes associated with student success, such as reading / math proficiency, on-time graduation rates, and college readiness.

Award details: Deloitte will award 100,000 USD in cash, the opportunity to receive 100,000 USD of pro bono services to help the organization scale, and access to Deloitte’s extensive network.
