James Beard Foundation
The late James Beard was a champion of American cuisine. He helped educate and mentor generations of professional chefs and food enthusiasts, instilling in them the value of wholesome, healthful, and delicious food.
Today, the Foundation continues in the same spirit by administering a number of diverse programs that include educational initiatives, food industry awards, scholarships for culinary students, chef advocacy training, and more.

On the menu: Virtual wine tastings
Have you ever been wine tasting—virtually? Can a virtual experience change how you perceive reality? In an experiment conducted by Deloitte Digital at the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, more than 100 delegates were asked to describe two glasses of wine blindly tasted while in two separate VR experiences: A darker, cooler indoor tavern and a sunny, open-air meadow. While both glasses were identical rose wines, most consumers noted they preferred one over the other or reported tasting two different types, highlighting how strongly virtual reality can influence physical reality.
